Update 20150908: the repo with experimental LibreOffice is online: http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostoih
Newsflash: The Build-Machine for S12 has been updated from build 66 to build 79 and the complete set of SFE packages is currently rebuilt. SFEgcc is now at 4.8.5 (with LINK_LIBGCC_SPEC)
Update 20150810: the rebuild works, one highlight will be boost 0.58 and anoter highly desired package will hopefully work (wou'll have to guess which one can be based in the supporting libs snet to svn during the past few days)
SFEsamab42.spec is leaving experimental/ soon. It contains support for Active Directory and is currently in testing.
Expect the binary packages to appear during the next one or two weeks (approx until Aug 14th 2015).
Do you have any comments or questions? Use the comment function, drop me an email or use IRC on irc.freenode.org
channel #pkgbuild
Thanks for using SFE packages and have a nice day!
New OpenVPN package version 2.3.6 uploaded, now uses a patch to better detect the default gateway on SunOS kernels.
During the last days, the testing repository for OpenIndiana OI151a8 (most packages should work in OI151a9 as well) got an update.
You can for instance find vlc, postfix, dovecot, tightvnc, and so on in this repostory. Please test the packages and give feedback, so I can collect package names and versions that can be promoted to an official repository soon.
If you wish to have SFE packages included, please drop me a note on any channel where you can find me (well that should not be to difficult).
Have fun with SFE packages and thanks for supporting SFE!
scribus has been updated to 1.4.5
I think that is really cool to have a DTP layout program on your Solaris / OpenIndiana workstation!
Drop me a note and tell me what you think!
As promised, the testing repository for SFE binary packages built for OmniOS is now online.
Please test this and send in comments (here on the blog, or by email (you'll find out)).
User registration is now back online. There has been an error in the blog spam filter module, the upgrade procedure didn't update the database tables correctly. This is now fixed and user registration works again. Please note, new users need to be approved by the blog administrator. This is necessary, because internet bots try to register lots of users in the hope, that they could publish comment spam.
If you are attending the Chaos Communication Congress 31C3 in Hamburg, I would like to talk with you.
If you're using OmniOS, OpenIndiana or Solaris 11 (IPS), then we could talk on which packages are needed or if you would like to help the SFE spec-files-extra project to get even more packages.
You can reach me on twitter @tomww or txt me on extention 8660 (GSM congress phone system)
My base is the "Sendezentrum" on Level 1 just below hall 1.
Cu!
Update: 20150119: the testing repository is not online: pkg set-publisher -G '*' -g http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostomnios localhostomnios
Tested #SFE on OmniOS:
SFEpostfix and SFEdovecot compile clean. SFEsamba is on the way testing.
Thats very good news for the whole spec-files-extra project.
It now runs on Solaris 11, OpenIndiana oi151a8 and OmniOS.
Which packages would you like to see first on OmniOS?
SFEMplayer.spec is now at version 1.1.1 and reached the spec-files-extra repository.
Automatic builds succeeded for Solaris 11 and he package is uploaded to the IPS repositoriy localhosts11.
Please test and provide a short feedback if it works or if you see errors.
Have fun with MPlayer!
(Tip1: Use "smplayer" to get a very nice gui ontop for mplayer)
(Tip2: If you like VLC more then MPlayer, VLC 2 is in the repos as well)
Why should you use SFE spec-files-extra software packages?
Maybe because you have use for:
- network/security
- - fail2ban
- email/spam/antivirus
- - postfix
- - dovecot
- - spamassassin
- - dspam
- - amavis
- web
- - drupal7
- multimedia
- - mpd / gmpc
- - vlc
- - (mplayer / mpv)
- - ffmpeg
- database/network info services
- - postfix
- - mysql
- - openldap
- - freeradius
Update: If you plan to attend, please drop me a note in advance if you have questions about SFE!
Update: Save the date!
January 20th 2015
(please RSVP to get enough supplies!)
See the events here: http://fraosug.de/termine/termine-bis-mai-2015/ - if you click on the date you get to a "doodle" page where you can RSVP!
Update: Planned start for automaticly building SFE packages for hipster: Oct 14th 2014.
You might have thought, what's next with SFE?
Besides maintaining the Spec files to work on Solaris 11 (and up), OpenIndiana OI151a8 and the fist small steps on OmniOS, there is another challenge to take:
Quick note: I managed to compile gcc based on local/edited SFEgcc.spec - that means we can get SFE packages on Omnios very soon. If you are interested in using packages or compile yourself, quick, let me know. It can only get faster out of the door then.
Hi *
Now the IPS repository for SFE packages built on OpenIndiana oi_151a8 is online.
Note: This is an experimental repository, you should think on making snapshots before installing / updating packages which are important to you. Just in case something goes wrong.
If you have questions or just want to say "thanks, it works", just drop a note by email or on the IRC channel #pkgbuild on irc.freenode.org (please idle around for longer to get us some more time to respond).
Update 20150517 mplayer and livemedia for OpenIndiana OI151a8 (OI151a9) is now fixed
Update 20130108 vlc is now available for Solaris 11 and OpenIndiana OI151a8
Hey,
currently another round of automatic build runs is heating the CPUs.
Additionally, I could solve some problems in the package stack for vlc, so please expect to appear vlc 2.1.1 or vlc 2.1.2 in the next few days on the repository localhosts11 and localhostoi151a8, which targets Solaris 11 (TM) and OpenIndiana oi151a8. MPlayer and / or its successor mpv should follow soon.
Hi all!
Now we have reached the successful migration of the last writes to the old SVN repository.
The new SF SVN repo now contains the latest commits (around April 22nd, commit 5338).
I could send two commits in (SFEopus.spec), so you'll see repo revision 5340 now.
